A live panel discussion at the University of Pennsylvania on the experiences of students in Foster Care transitioning to Higher Education.
For students in or aging out of foster care, transitioning to higher education can be especially challenging without resources and support. As the majority of youth in foster care aspire to attend college, effective policies and practice should be implemented to promote enhanced college attendance, retention, and graduation. In this session, you will hear from a panel of college students and/or graduates, each with experience in foster care, to share their insights about how the transition from high school to college and beyond can be supported for this population.
*A reception with youth speakers will follow the panel discussion
Panel moderator: Logan Fosu, Field Center Nancy Glickenhaus Student Fellow
Dorm Room Drive: We will be collecting items to donate to local colleges and universities that provide support to students with foster care experience. Please bring an item for a student dorm room to this event!
