Over the past few years, the “dollars up, donors down” giving trend has become more prominent, underscoring the importance of a strong major gifts program, with the 2023 Giving USA data further emphasizing this need. In this session, we will discuss how data and prospect research can help development teams take the best course of action when cultivating major donors. We will travel through the major gift donor journey, from cultivation through solicitation and stewardship, and engage in small group discussions to ensure that participants leave with the knowledge and tools to leverage data and develop personalized donor strategies that yield results. These engagement strategies will build a stronger culture of major gift philanthropy and set development leaders and their teams up for long-term fundraising success.
