AI Workflows for Social Impact: A Human-Centered, Hands-On Guide

About the talk 💻 AI tools are everywhere, but many social impact teams struggle to move from interest to real implementation. This session focuses on how to build your first practical AI workflow – starting with the problem you’re trying to solve, not the tool itself. Using real examples from social impact organizations, we’ll walk through how to identify the right processes to automate and how to build lightweight workflows with accessible tools and limited resources. The goal is not to replace people, but to reduce repetitive work so teams can focus on relationships, decision-making, and impact. Participants will leave with a practical, human-centered framework they can apply immediately to increase impact.
Speakers Bio 💭 Ibrahim has always been fascinated by the intersection of tech and society. This curiosity led him to study Computer Science at University of Pennsylvania, where he laid the foundation for his technical expertise in software engineering and algorithms. But Ibrahim was more interested in the applications of tech than in the 1s and 0s, so he continued his Master’s in Systems Engineering, diving deep into complex systems design and human-centered design. This taught him how to think holistically about how technology integrates with human behavior and organizational needs.
After graduation, Ibrahim joined the PwC consulting practice, where he spent several years helping Fortune 100 companies navigate digital transformation and business process optimization. He gradually shifted to the impact space, where he led a new social innovation initiative and took on product management roles.
Seeking a global perspective on business and innovation, Ibrahim earned his MBA from INSEAD in France and Singapore. This experience opened his eyes to different cultural approaches to problem-solving and reinforced his belief that the best solutions come from diverse perspectives. Throughout this journey, Ibrahim continuously invested in understanding human behavior and change. He became a certified Tiny Habits Coach through BJ Fogg’s program at Stanford, earned User Experience and Cultural Ethnography certifications, and deepened his understanding of how people actually adopt and use technology in their daily lives.
Over the past 8 years, Ibrahim has had the privilege of launching his own startups and social ventures, working with startups, established companies, and everything in between. Today, he splits his time between building Ruminado, launching more products, and writing about the future of work and technology. Ibrahim is always excited to explore new challenges and collaborate with people who share a passion for building meaningful things.
