INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY
Penn Center for Inclusive Innovation & Technology
The Penn Center for Inclusive Innovation and Technology (PCIIT) is launching as an SP2-led strategic initiative, directed by PIK University Professor Desmond Upton Patton, focused on developing and implementing innovative approaches to community engagement and community-informed innovation, guided at every step by a deep commitment to social justice and anti-racist frameworks. The Center will promote values-oriented approaches to community engaged innovation in social work, philanthropy, nonprofits, social policy, as well as across other Penn disciplines. The Center will develop models of equitable innovation through community engagement in technology, research, advocacy, and more. The Center will also provide leadership around community engagement across the university. Initial programming will focus on Philadelphia as our core learning space, but plans may include to expand nationally and globally.
