Stephanie Magee
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech before attending Penn State for graduate studies in Human Development and Family Studies. During her time as an undergraduate and graduate student, she developed and conducted several research studies, producing a publication in a peer reviewed journal and presented as many professional research conferences. Upon completion of her time at Penn State, she started at the University of Pennsylvania providing executive level administrative support for faculty in an effort to continue her experience in academia. Wanting to stay in the realm of research, Stephanie transitioned to the Office of Research Services as a post award accountant. Throughout her tenure in ORS, she gained valuable experience and skills which landed her opportunities to be promoted to Financial Analyst and eventually an Associate Director. Stephanie wanted to broaden her depth of knowledge in research administration, so she ventured out into a department at the School of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania to work more closely with faculty and become familiar with the grants process outside of a central perspective. Eventually she found her way back to ORS but on the pre-award team where she gained experience working as an AOR for the University submitting grant proposals and managed non-financial post award. Given the extensive background Stephanie has in research administration, she was provided an opportunity to assist SP2 with grant related activities during her time in ORS. It was through this experience that she knew she wanted to become a part of the SP2 team and grow with the expanding research opportunities in the school. Stephanie is thrilled to be here and very much looking forward to the future of SP2.
