
Nidhi Tandon, MS, MPhil
Nidhi is a Data Scientist at the Center for Guaranteed Income Research (CGIR). An interdisciplinary researcher, she holds an M.Phil and MS in Public Policy and Planning, complemented by certifications in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Cities, and Equitable Education from MIT; Blockchain Technologies from Wharton; and Project Management from Cornell University.
Her research spans several critical policy areas, including unconditional cash transfers, rigorous statistical methodologies in program evaluation, workforce skills development, and affordable housing policies. Nidhi has co-authored a book on emerging work trends in urban India and is currently authoring a second publication that explores the future of data in India’s smart cities. Her work integrates research, practice, and policy, driving transformative change at both local and international levels.
Beyond her professional work, Nidhi is passionate about applying her knowledge to create lasting social impact. She co-founded and directs a nonprofit organization in New Jersey dedicated to enhancing STEM education in underserved communities. She also serves on the board of an international nonprofit that provides workforce skills development to alleviate poverty among marginalized communities in India.
