As a substance use and criminal justice researcher, Alexandra focuses on the development of interventions and policies that improve the health and well-being of people in the criminal justice system. Most recently, she implemented a study looking at the effects of a yoga intervention on substance use, stress and HIV medication adherence for returning citizens with HIV and substance use problems. Her research is informed by professional experiences as a mental health clinician in a county jail and work as a behavioral health policy analyst in the criminal justice system.
