As voters consider 2024 ballots at local, state, and national levels, we’re highlighting the issues that #PennSP2 faculty view as priorities from the perspective of their research. Today, Associate Professor Abby Ross discusses the issues of public health and health care.

Also an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Penn’s Perelman School of Medicine, Dr. Ross seeks to develop and implement evidence-based interventions that both improve youth and family well-being in pediatric health settings and advance equity within youth-serving health systems. Hear #PennSP2’s Katherina (Kat) Rosqueta discuss the impact of “year-round, everyday work” beyond election day during the first 2024-2025 SP2 Speaker Series event. Focused on the theme of democracy — including civic engagement, activism, and the political process — the conversation was hosted by Ben Jealous, whose roles at Penn and beyond include Professor of Practice, Annenberg School for Communication, Penn Carey Law, and School of Social Policy & Practice; Executive Director, Sierra Club; and Former National President & CEO of NAACP.
