NPL
MA in Hebrew Letters
The Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership (NPL)/MA in Hebrew Letters with the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College prepares on-campus students to lead Jewish social impact organizations including synagogues, community organizations, and nonprofits. Students enrolled in the dual degree program can earn both a Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in Hebrew Letters from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
Online NPL students are not able to complete the NPL/MA in Hebrew Letters.
General Course of Study
On its own, the NPL is a ten course unit (CU) degree, consisting of four NPL core CUs, four NPL elective CUs, and two Penn elective CUs. On its own, the MA in Hebrew Letters is a five year program including two Foundational Years and three Integration Years including a year of study in Israel. When students complete the NPL/MA in Hebrew Letters program, two RRC CUs are applied to the NPL program as electives, allowing students to complete both programs together in five to six years. It is recommended that students begin the MA in Hebrew Letters program at RRC prior to applying to the NPL program at the University of Pennsylvania. Students must notify their academic advisors at both Penn and RRC that they are completing this program, so that their course of study can be planned accordingly.
Finances
Students pay SP2 tuition, and receive any applicable financial aid awards, for eight CUs at the University of Pennsylvania.
