NPL CERTIFICATE PROGRAMSCertificate in Law

The University of Pennsylvania Law School offers a Certificate in Law to students enrolled in a graduate or professional degree program at Penn.

Students need a total of four courses towards the certificate; three of them may be completed within the ten credits required for the NPL degree:

  • LAW 5110 (fulfills an outside Elective, only offered in on-campus format)
  • LAW xxxx (fulfills an outside Elective)
  • NPLD xxxx: TBD with approval by Law School (fulfills one Law certificate course)

The fourth course needed for the certificate is taken at the Law School and is in addition to the 10 credits required for the NPL degree. Students pay the SP2 per-course tuition rate and must take the course before graduating from the NPL program.

While both on-campus and online students are eligible to complete the Certificate in Law, online students would need to attend at least one on-campus course to fulfill the certification requirements. Some law courses are offered in an online format.
