Penn Today recently spoke with four professors — including #PennSP2's Dr. Amy Hillier — who changed course in their academic journeys. Hillier began her career studying historical mortgage redlining and moved into supporting trans youth.

An associate professor at SP2, Hillier currently pursues research interests related to LGBTQ communities and is the founding director of the School's LGBTQ Certificate Program. She continues to lead walking tours of the historic 7th Ward, one of the oldest Black neighborhoods in Philadelphia.
