
Nia Simmons
Nia Simmons is a Research Associate for research under the SexGen Lab titled Reconceptualizing Gender and Health (RGH). RGH is a qualitative research project focused on designing a measure of the evolving gender identities to improve the gender-related care people receive. In their role as Research Associate, Nia is responsible for interviewing, coding, analyzing, and organizing the data collected.
Nia is a recent graduate from the Bloustein School at Rutgers University where they received a Bachelors in Science in Public Health with a concentration in health disparities. They will be attending Drexel University in the fall for the Community Health and Prevention MPH program. Nia’s research interests and praxis include community-based research methods, health education, health equity, medical ethics, and improving the quality of care for people who have been marginalized.
