Matthew Sato, MSW

As the MSW Program Coordinator, Matt provides administrative and programmatic support to the MSW Administrative Director, SP2 faculty, staff, and student community. Matt also provides conscientious support to the MSW student community, through providing academic advising, engagement in MSW application reviews and admission initiatives, and various event planning functions.

Matt comes to SP2 with a variety of macro-oriented social work experiences. These experiences include the NASW-NJ, the Rutgers University School of Social Work where he earned his MSW degree, international social work experience through a service-learning placement abroad, and Stockton University where he earned his business degree. During his MSW Program, Matt worked with NASW-NJ to provide administrative and consulting support for social workers across the state and went on to serve an advisory role to their board of directors as an MSW representative. Additionally, he worked closely with staff and students at the Rutgers Center for Leadership and Management. In this role he developed and innovated initiatives that focused on expanding opportunities for macro-oriented social work students. After a short career in human resources that supported his social work aspirations, Matt is excited to join the MSW Program and the SP2 community and continue his passion of shaping the future of social work.
