Katherine Stewart, PhD

  • Administrative Director, MS in Social Policy Program
  • As Administrative Director, Katherine directs the strategic planning and oversight of the MSSP Program, including budgetary decisions and the development and evaluation of curricular programming, dual degree programs, specializations, and certificates. She recruits and advises prospective and current MSSP students and works with new faculty to deliver a superlative educational experience for our students.

    Prior to joining SP2, Katherine served as Assistant Director of the National and International Scholarships Office at Purdue University, working with students applying to prestigious scholarships. She previously served as an admissions consultant in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. At the Taubman Center for Public Policy at Brown University, she managed the center’s academic programs, research projects, political polling, conferences, and outreach. Katherine has a PhD in Political Science from Brown University, an MEd from the University of Virginia, and a BA in Government from Harvard. She has lived, worked, and studied abroad in Asia, South America, and Europe and enjoys comparing travel adventures with SP2’s domestic and international students.
