James Joseph, DSW, MSW, MSEd
Dr. Joseph began his career working as a teacher in early childhood/elementary regular and special education. After completing graduate school, he moved into social work as an academic liaison and advocate for children and adolescents in therapeutic foster care. Recently he has expanded his scope of practice to include research into the effectiveness of Mindfulness based interventions.
Over the last ten years he has been working as a therapist with individuals of all ages, providing individual, couples, and family therapy. During this time he also served as a court approved mediator, behavioral health consultant for schools, conference presenter, and university lecturer. His background in education, foster care, and divorce and custody mediation, has provided him with a broad set of social work experiences and skills which he incorporates into his classroom teaching.
