Faculty & Research

09/30/15

Girls and women around the globe live under the threat of violence. All can live more fully when they are not afraid or in danger.

The School of Social Policy & Practice is home to the Evelyn Jacobs Ortner Center, an interdisciplinary Center that involves multiple Schools at Penn – Arts & Sciences, Nursing, Dentistry, Medicine, Wharton, and Engineering and Applied Science – as well as the School of Social Policy & Practice.

The Center launched Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2015 with Penn researchers (faculty members, PhD students, and undergraduates) highlighting their work in four minutes and one slide. The researcher panels were followed by a keynote address by Evan Stark – The Violence Wasn’t the Worst Part.
