Since Dean John L. Jackson, Jr. launched the Future of Social Change Tour in September, more than 600 alumni, volunteers, potential students and others from across the East Coast have come out to discuss the future of the School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2) and its impact on the university.
And that’s just the half of it.
This semester, things are about to heat up as the spring portion of the tour begins in Los Angeles, CA.
With six more tour destinations on the list, Jackson aims to reach more diverse audiences and to cultivate further interest in the School’s ability to tackle social concerns worldwide.
At every stop, the Dean brings his enthusiasm and vision for the School to SP2 allies, prospective students and the local community. Each free event allows guests to network, learn more about the School’s culture, degree and certificate programs, student field placement and financial aid. The evening also features Dean Jackson as the main speaker and is followed by a Q&A session.
Over the next few months, the tour will stopover in Los Angeles, Atlanta, San Francisco, Boston and Chicago. The U.S. leg of the tour will close during Alumni Weekend where it all started – Philadelphia.
In June, the tour will makes its way to China in conjunction with the opening of the Penn / Wharton China Center.
As the tour forges ahead, the Dean welcomes all who want to hear more about SP2’s students, faculty and staff – remarkable individuals who not only influence the future of social change, but are the future of social change.
