Dissertation: Short-Circuiting Neoliberal Development: A Case Study of the Usha Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Megan Stanton is a graduate of SP2’s Ph.D. program in Social Welfare; her dissertation is titled “Short-circuiting neoliberal development: a case study of the Usha Multipurpose Cooperative Society”. Her research interests include community-based structural interventions with marginalized populations, relationships between individual and collective empowerment in the fields of health and economics, grassroots approaches to poverty and inequality and participatory action research. Prior to entering the Ph.D. program, Megan worked as a Social Worker working with incarcerated individuals and their families at Families in Crisis, Inc. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Marymount Manhattan College.
