Alexander Bervik is a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2). Previously, he has worked with refugee communities in Denver, Stockholm, Athens, and Philadelphia, and his research interests have grown out of these experiences. He engages in ethnographic and community-based participatory action research.
Alexander holds both a BS in Business Administration and a BS in Mathematics from Colorado State University, as well as a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Before returning to SP2, Alexander worked with students and nonprofits at Stanford University’s Haas Center for Public Service.
