Carl is a Program Manager at the Center for Social Impact Strategy (CSIS). In this role, he is responsible for managing a portfolio of executive programs, including recruitment and enrollment. He is a program graduate of CSIS having completed the Executive Program in Social Innovation Design from CSIS and Weitzman School of Design in 2020 and then served on the teaching team as a Teaching Fellow. He has received additional training in design thinking at the Teaching and Learning Studio at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University.
Carl previously worked in the Center for Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. There, Carl focused on applied transportation research for local, state, and nationwide projects. His background also includes managing programs focused on entrepreneurship and innovation at the Center for Innovation and Leadership at Swarthmore College, supporting student leadership development through design education. Carl has a Master’s in Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning, a Master’s in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, and a Bachelor’s in Applied Health Science from Wheaton College, IL.
