  • Iris Leon is the Director of Operations and Strategic Initiatives for the Center for High Impact Philanthropy (CHIP) at the School of Social Policy and Practice. Iris brings over 15 years of experience in nonprofit and philanthropic roles. Before joining CHIP, Iris was the Chief Operating Officer for the Maayan Collective, a network of programs seeded through the Chabad at Penn including a mental health initiative, a business network, and a research institute. In that role, her portfolio included resource generation, financial management, human resources, and program strategy and execution. Previous positions include stints with the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, the Delaware County Community Foundation, the University of Pennsylvania, and National Philanthropic Trust.

    Iris earned her MS in Nonprofit Leadership from SP2 and her BA magna cum laude in Art History from Temple University. She has chaired both SP2’s Alumni Council and the Philadelphia chapter of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP). A lifelong Philadelphian, Iris enjoys hikes in the Wissahickon, fiery debates about cheesesteaks, and spending as much time as possible with her husband and two young children.
