
Deja D. Kemp, JD
Deja Kemp supports agencies in designing and implementing legal frameworks to facilitate cross-sector data sharing, and crafts guidance for the field. Most recently she served as Senior Associate General Counsel for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, providing counsel on contracts, litigation, policy, partnerships, and administrative practice. She has also worked in private practice assisting local governments and nonprofits in complex regulatory compliance matters and civil litigation. She earned her BA in Women & Gender Studies from Dartmouth College and her JD from Wake Forest University School of Law, and holds law licenses in North Carolina and South Carolina. Prior to practicing law, Deja was a middle school science teacher. She lives in Charlotte, N.C. with her husband, Anthony and her twin toddlers, Nia and Zuri.
