SUMMARY:Community and Values Restorative Circle
DESCRIPTION:SP2 has partnered with Restorative Practices @ Penn to offer three virtual restorative circle conversations for SP2 students. \nBackground on Circle Practice \nThis conversation will be held using a specific approach to dialogue called Circle Practice. Circle is an approach to conversation which makes space for equity of voice; and for all participants to speak and be heard\, and to listen deeply to what others are sharing to strengthen community. \nCircle as a form of dialog has both proximal and distant roots in the practices of numerous Native American and First Nations communities. Most immediately with recognition given to the Carcross-Tagish First Nation and the Teslin Tlingit First Nation in Northwestern Canada.  Indigenous roots to Circle Practice and Restorative Justice lineage goes back to practitioners (Harold and Phil Gatensby) in the Carcross/Tagish First Nation and other FNs of northwest Canada\, but as the language of Restorative Justice spreads\, more people around the world are naming that they have and have had forever their own form of Circle practice\, with some similar structures and values.
