NPL Guest Lecture: Philanthropy and Social Justice with Dr. Jackie Bouvier Copeland

Please join the Nonprofit Leadership Program and NPLD 796: Philanthropy & Fundraising for a guest lecture on philanthropy and social justice on Monday, December 7 from 5:30 to 7 PM Eastern.

Dr. Jackie Bouvier Copeland, a proud Philadelphian and University of Pennsylvania graduate, will share her philanthropy career journey and lessons learned to promote innovation, social and environmental justice. In particular, she will share how she has used her training as a humanist, social scientist, and urban designer to craft a social and environmental impact career that promotes human rights and addresses climate change. Dr. Copeland is currently founder of The Women Invested to Save Earth Fund, a nonprofit innovation enterprise created to support promising climate change women and people of color technologists and advocates addressing environmental decline. She has a bachelor’s degree in literature and a diplomacy certification focused on Africa from Georgetown University (1984). She also has an anthropology doctorate as well as an urban design and anthropology masters, all from University of Pennsylvania (1990, 1991, and 2000).
