Biography

Ridhika Tripathee (she/they) is a Foundation Year student in the Master of Social Work program at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice. She was born in Kathmandu, Nepal, and moved to the US when she was eight. They attribute their passion for social justice to growing up within poorly-resourced systems that failed to support them and their loved ones. Motivated to address these inequalities, she has worked in multiple fields, including healthcare, education, and mental health. Ridhika graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Biochemistry from Bowdoin College, where they were awarded the General R.H. Dunlap Prize for her commitment to service, the Questbridge National Match scholarship, and the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Grant. Her current interests are in trauma-informed care for children and adolescents, education and healthcare equity, poverty-reduction policy, and increasing access to individualized behavioral and mental health interventions. In their free time, Ridhika can be found creating fiber arts, trying out plant-based recipes, playing with her two cats, or writing short stories or poetry at the park.
