Nidhi Tandon is a data scientist and policy researcher with more than a decade of experience leading research and evaluation work across academic, government, and nonprofit settings. At the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Guaranteed Income Research, she provides statistical and methodological expertise across a portfolio of more than 40 studies and serves as Co-Principal Investigator on a research grant.
She also serves as Senior Advisor for AI, Data, and Decision Support at the National Association of State Workforce Agencies, where she advises state workforce agencies on responsible AI, data governance, and the practical use of analytics in public programs. Her work has covered guaranteed income, workforce development, poverty alleviation, education, and public-sector technology. Nidhi is also the founder and director of East Brunswick FIRST, a nonprofit that helps students from diverse backgrounds participate in STEM. She has published and presented nationally, serves on the board of Asia Initiatives, and as a member of the NIST AI Public Working Group. She is also co-author of Emerging Work Trends in Urban India: COVID-19 and Beyond (Routledge, 2022). She holds an M.Phil. in Public Policy from IIT Bombay and an M.S. in Geography and Urban Planning from the University of Calcutta.
