Aviv Y. Landau, PhD, MSW is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice and the Co-Director of SAFElab.
His research focuses on developing and implementing interdisciplinary approaches that integrate computational methods with social work. His primary areas of interest include health equity, ethical artificial intelligence, youth engagement on social media, natural language processing, clinical decision support systems, and qualitative methodologies.
His current projects include developing machine learning algorithms to identify child abuse and neglect, reimagining medical documentation, and integrating social work principles into AI development.
Dr. Landau previously worked as a school social worker and holds a Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Social Work, and PhD from the University of Haifa.
