Xavia Hobson is the new Grant Coordinator for SP2. She has been a part of the Penn family since she was a little girl. She received her first big start helping her mother, Maxine Hobson, in the Multicultural Recruitment office where she learned office skills such a filing, answering phones, mail prep, and more.
Xavia obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She began her career as a Pharmaceutical Event planner for a company called Touch Associates, but she eventually made her way back to Penn in 2019 when she was hired as the Grants Coordinator for the Neuroscience department. She spent 5 years under the amazing supervision of Christine Zay where she learned everything concerning Grants.
When Xavia is not creating process and procedures in the Grants world, she is mothering a beautiful baby girl named Aveyah. Xavia takes pride in being a safe place and creating spaces that encourages people to be exactly who they are. She is the proud owner of XaviaMichelle, a hair business where she specializes in protective styles and natural hair care. Her hobbies included blogging, reading, writing, discovering new music, attending church, and perfecting her hair skills. She is excited for her future here at SP2.
