As a new academic year begins, Penn’s School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2) is proud to announce the launch of its redesigned website at sp2.upenn.edu.

The new website offers an enhanced digital experience for prospective students, current students, faculty and staff, alumni, and partners. Featuring a modern visual design, streamlined navigation, and interactive tools, the redesigned platform makes it easier than ever to explore SP2’s academic programs, research, and impact.

Developed in partnership with digital agency 3 Media Web and informed by extensive feedback from members of the SP2 community, the comprehensive redesign project focused on creating a more user-centered experience. The new site prioritizes accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and simplified pathways to critical information, ensuring visitors can quickly find the resources they need.

Highlights of the new website include:

  • Fresh Visual Design: An updated look that aligns SP2’s identity with the University of Pennsylvania brand, while showcasing the School’s unique mission and community.
  • Interactive Program Finder: An interactive tool that enables prospective students to filter, compare, and explore academic programs by degree level, area of interest, and format.
  • Dynamic Research Page:A searchable resource showcasing faculty expertise and research areas, alongside a comprehensive directory of SP2’s research centers.
  • Reimagined Homepage Experience: A new homepage that highlights SP2’s academic excellence, groundbreaking research, values-driven work, and vibrant community.
  • Streamlined Site Architecture and Search: Simplified navigation, consolidated content, and improved search functionality help users access important information with fewer clicks.
  • Mobile-Optimized Experience: Fully responsive layouts designed to provide a seamless experience across smartphones, tablets, and desktop devices.
  • Enhanced Accessibility: Built to align with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines, supporting users who rely on screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  • Expanded Multimedia Storytelling: Engaging video content, vibrant photography, and dynamic storytelling elements that bring the SP2 experience to life.

The website launch represents the culmination of months of planning, collaboration, and testing. SP2 thanks our partners at 3 Media Web for their expertise and collaboration in bringing the vision for the new site to life and Penn’s Web Accessibility team at ISC and Penn Procurement Services for their guidance throughout the design process. The School also extends its gratitude to the members of the Website Redesign Committee: Millan AbiNader, Shanice Beckham, Zareah Bishop, Colleen Daily, Adiza Ezell, Kristen de Paor, Johanna Greeson, Jeff Johnson-Curry, Andrea Porter, Emily Rich, and Matt Sato.

The new site is built as an evolving platform, with the ability to build dynamic webpages that can grow and change alongside the School. Visitors are encouraged to explore the redesigned website and experience its new features firsthand at sp2.upenn.edu.
